Insider Dining: Atomic Cowboy Staff’s Favorites!

Insider trading might be frowned upon; insider dining, however, is another story. Sometimes, the best way to find the most delicious dishes is to go directly to the source. We did just that, asking the Atomic Cowboy staff for their tried-and-true recommendations. Here is what they had to say: 

Chef Nick

Chef Nick’s favorite dish is the Winona with an easy egg. According to him, it has the best pimento cheese ever! The Winona uses cheese from Tillamook, Oregon, a town renowned worldwide for its dairy delights. 

Doug 

Doug thinks Atomic Cowboy pizza is the best in town. You can choose from a variety of toppings like garlic, Tenderbelly bacon, banana peppers, arugula, mushrooms, roasted onion, and feta. He suggests a side of Chipotle ranch for the obligatory crust-dipping. 

Taelor

Preferring to keep things classic, Taelor’s go-to dish is the half-and-half Franklin, featuring Nashville hot chicken and an easy egg.  The Franklin can be made with buttermilk chicken or Nashville hot, depending on the diner’s preference. 

Zachery

Zachery’s best dish is the Nashville hot chicken on French toast. While chicken and waffles (or, in this case, French toast) seem like a new idea, it has deep roots: The first version of this dish appeared in the 1600s among the Pennsylvania Dutch.  

Joshua

Joshua swears by the chicken sandwich tossed in BBQ sauce with tomato, red onion, arugula, and a drizzle of ranch. He describes the BBQ-ranch combo as “criminally good.” Fun fact about ranch dressing: It was thought up by a plumber-turned-cowboy.

Sara

Sara admits that choosing just one dish is tough; having three is never too many when it comes to appetite. Her favorite options include the Winona, the Lola with Nashville hot chicken on French toast, and Atomic Cowboy’s signature burgers.  

Donavan, Shelby, and Katie

Donavan, Shelby, and Katie rank Atomic Cowboy’s award-winning burgers at the top of their lists. Katie even admits to devouring hers “like a Gremlin.” Gremlins 3 is coming out in November of 2027; perhaps she’ll be in one of the scenes!
